I recently had a chance to sit down and have a one-on-one chat with ConfigERP's CEO Mike Meyer. There was lots to talk about, and he answered questions about, among other things, IT market, consulting, products, rumors about recent investor meeting, and competition with consulting companies. Quotations below are based on my notes and roughly accurate.
You are the CEO of ConfigERP, what vision do you have for ConfigERP?
We will continue to strengthen our position as a top management consultancy for the SAP/ERP marketplace. We will also continue to acquire and complete projects, which make gaining a competitive advantage possible for the individual businesses of ConfigERP. Our clients have the right to choose between our competitors and us; we compete based on our experience and our highly skilled SAP/ERP workforce and support.
In our consulting work, we particularly value our professionals as well as their ability to implement new and exciting applications. Coming up with good ideas without providing for their implementation just isn't enough, outstanding ConfigERP professionals stand behind every good project. Finding these people, developing them, accompanying their transfer into the ConfigERP team and finding the right client and project is also our mission. Maintaining this level of quality professionals, and commitment to large complex projects in the future is my goal, as this is assured, ConfigERP's advantage become apparent.
I've experienced that more and more professionals are searching to find their next project or position, so we are focusing more time and resources on improving our ConfigERP Job Board. I am always particularly pleased when we can help others with our service. I am personally focusing on this challenge to make a larger contribution, and expand our services for IT job seekers or employers seeking job placement assistance.
As the ConfigERP CEO, do you feel like an "entrepreneur"?
Of course I feel like an entrepreneur given that I am accountable for steering the company, and have the corresponding freedom to shape our business in new areas, and ever changing global markets. In the end, I am responsible for which projects represent, support, or propose. In comparison to my previous responsibilities, the consulting business has no established business base and changes so frequently, this makes every project exciting and interesting. This business also allows for the freedom to explore new ideas, apply new innovations and integrate the latest software and applications in the ever-changing technology marketplace. This is achieved, while providing the highest level of support and attention to our clients and business partners.
Our corporate work ethic and attention to detail, is important to attracting consultants, associates, and partners, their development and commitments to quality, are of central importance in the consulting business. Based on my experience as an international businessman and as leader in an array of different markets, I plan to build a strong service base providing for optimum client support, resulting in continued future growth.
